The Garden of water

This beautiful green setting, composed of wet and wooded area, give you a stroll over 6ha. With its recreational panels (in french), its restored wash houses and its picnic tables, “le Jardin de l’eau” is open for free permanently.

This natural area is landscaped following the principle of sustainable gardening by the dinstrict council, accommodating saving and ecology. The garden hosts a wide-ranging biodiversity.

Its recreational path gathers visual panels and tactile boxes, ideal to discover flora and fauna of this kind of wet area. The garden also highlight the quality of the water harnessed in the Coglais’ subsoil.

A playground for children and a fitness trail are in free acces.

Many circuits are possible, from the big tour of 2.5 km to discover all the garden to the 800m tour adapted for wheelchairs. The visit takes less than an hour.

The Garden is open all year permanently.

Accessibility

A car park accessible to the disabled persons is set at the back of the garden, the entry is possible by the road D19. It give the opportunity to avoid the stairs on the main entry, in front of the town hall. 

Most of the paths are adapted to wheelchairs and pushchairs.

Our advice

The “Jardin de l’eau” is a green small valley hidden but at few steps from the center of the village of Saint-Germain-en-Coglès !

It’s an ideal place for a family-friendly small walk or a picnic.

It’s possible to continue to discover this charming town with its panels who presents old view (ancient postal cards) of the village. The begging of the circuit “Saint-Germain à pas contés” begins near of the multimedia library, where you can follow the red steps on the floor to discover all the panels.
