Hiking

Hiking trails of Couesnon Marches de Bretagne borrow 300 km of marked trails. Walkers or confirmed hikers, 35 marked hiking tours from 5 to 23 km are available.

The territory is crossed by GR trails : GR 37, GR 39 et two of the paths of Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle.

Find, here and freely, all of our hiking documents. They are also available in printed versions in our Tourism Offices at Bazouges-la-Pérouse and Maen-Roch. Each printed hiking document costs 0.20 €.

AU PAYS DU MARQUIS DE LA ROUËRIE – In the land of the Marquis de la Rouërie

Here, at the frontier of Normandy, between wooden valleys and bocage landscape, your walk will lead you on the steps of the Marquis de la Rouërie. He was a defender of Breton liberties and the creator of the Chouannerie, one of the biggest counter-revolutionist guerria.

LE SENTIER DES PETITS MONUMENTS – The Small Monuments Trail

On 100% forest tracks, remarkable trees, crosses, oratory and other little monuments reveal themselves to tell you the millennial history of the Villecartier forest. The roman boundary stone, the Saint-Mathurin oratory , the Saint-Anne cross, the trough  of clog makers and the column of the Chouans are to discover on this hike.

Watch out : one part of the tour is altered by a wood cutting area and the marking is not visible any more. The map reading is essential in this area.

LE CIRCUIT DE LA ROCHE – The Circuit of the Rock

LE CIRCUIT DES ROCHERS – The Rocks Circuit

LE CIRCUIT DE LA BALLUE – The Ballue’s Tour

LA CROIX DE MONTAUGÉ – The Cross of Montaugé

Leisure site, the Villecartier Forest is, first of all, a place of wood production. This walk allows you to observe the differents stages of forest management. Discover, here, a sustainable management that contributes to the preservation of the forest heritage. You will cross, also, on your way, the cross of Montaugé, erected in 1625 by Le Gallais's family, following the murder of the lieutenant "of Waters and Forests", Estienne Gallais.
